How to Setup a Free, Smart, Follow-up AutoResponder

Download this Free Script, Email Marketing Assistant.

More info including the features: http://www.emailmarketingassistant.com/ema.free.php
Download the script here: http://www.emailmarketingassistant.com/ema.free.1.1.zip

Create a folder on your computer in c:\ema

Once it has downloaded to your computer, UnZip the file into c:\ema

It should unzip into a folder called emafree.1.1   inside of c:\ema

Rename the folder emafree.1.1 to emafree

We want to upload this entire folder to our website using Filezilla

Download Filezilla here: http://filezilla.sourceforge.net

Get the newest version, filezilla Ver 3.0.1

The file filezilla_3.0.1_win32-setup.exe is a self-extracting file which will start an installation of

Filezilla – accept all default choices, click next a few times and you will be told that it was installed.

Click Finish.

Go to Start Programs, Filezilla Client, Filezilla to open the program.

Enter your information into the Host, Username, Password boxes like below

Click The Quickconnect button and it should open your website and look something like this

You may have to Open or Move to different directories to get yours setup as below. Then you just drag the

Folder emafree from inside c:\ema in the local site to the httpdocs folder in the Remote site.

The transfer should begin but it will take a few minutes for it to transfer them all. Just watch and let it run.

Once it has finished, click the + by httpdocs to open it and you should see the emafree folder.

The Instructions tell us to provide write permissions to the connections folder and all files inside it.

Right click the connections folder, click File Attributes on the popup menu then set it as below

Click OK button.

When that is finished we finished with filezilla for now but we will come back.

Now we have to setup a MySQL database for the script to use,

so we have to go to the CPanel control panel.

You should get there by typing this into the address of your browser:

http://domainname.com/cpanel/

you should replace domainname.com with your actual domain name.

If your hosting service has given you different directions for getting into

your Control Panel, follow their directions.

You should get a login screen, enter your username and password and

check the remember password checkbox, click OK.

You should see something much like the screen below

Click on the MySQL icon and you should see the screen below where you create:

a new database called ema and

a new user for that database named eadmin

with a password of x1y2z3

Type ema into the new database box, click Create Database button.

Click Goback on the next screen and you will see that a new database has been created with some added characters.

It takes the extra characters from your domain.

For this example lawnfaqs_ema is the name that MySQL has given the database.

Enter username of eadmin and password x1y2z3 and click the Create User button.

Then click Goback from thenext screen.

When you return you see that the user has been created.

Now we have to add the user to the database, telling MySQL that user eadmin can use the database.

Fill in the boxes, (if they are not filled in automatically)..

Check the All check box to give the user all rights.

Click Add User to Database button.

Click Goback from the next screen to return to see if the user is added.

Note:

Watch carefully as they are being created because there will probably be a few characters added to

identify the database with your domain.

Write these down carefully, you will need them when we go back to filezilla.

It added lawnfaqs_ in my example.

Below is much like what you will see, except for your domain making things different

Now we can tell the script about the database we just created.

We do that by running the install.db.php file which was one of the files that we uploaded.

The way we make the file run is just to type your domain followed by the file name into the address box

of your browser like this:
http://domainname.com/emafree/install.db.php

After I did that in this example, I got this display in the browser, telling me to make a few changes.
